Which tool for what
Each tool turns one kind of input into a 3D model you can slice and print. Start from what you already have: a word, a vector logo or a photo.

STL or 3MF?
STL holds a single mesh with no colour. When a model has two parts, a base and the letters or the logo on top, the STL download is a zip with one file per part, so import both files together to keep them aligned. A 3MF keeps the parts as coloured objects in one file, and slicers that handle several filaments let you give each part its own. A lithophane is a single part, so its STL and 3MF contain the same shape. Whichever you pick, the line under the download buttons gives the real size in millimetres and says whether the mesh is closed.
QR codes and slicer guides
Need a code that people can scan? The QR code generator on the home page makes a two-colour desk stand, keychain or wall plaque as a 3MF or STL. To print two colours, follow the guide for your slicer: Bambu Studio with the AMS, PrusaSlicer, or Cura with Pause at Height on a single-extruder printer.
